Nine Mile Metals (CSE: NINE) released assay results August 27, 2026, for drill hole DDH WD-26-10 at the Wedge Mine in the Bathurst Mining Camp, New Brunswick — five payable metals across a wide zone.
The hole, collared at the southwest edge of the drill pattern to a depth of 224 metres, returned 2.52% copper-equivalent over 31.95 metres, per the company's August 27 news release on Junior Mining Network. Within that envelope: 27.25 metres of 2.87% Cu-Eq, 14.15 metres of 3.73% Cu-Eq, and a peak interval of 4.15 metres grading 5.16% Cu-Eq.
The broader 31.95-metre zone, running from 109 to 140.95 metres depth, averaged 0.93% copper, 0.57% lead, 2.23% zinc, 24.89 grams per tonne silver, and 0.49 grams per tonne gold. The tightest, highest-grade 14.15-metre section averaged 0.98% copper, 1.14% lead, 4.67% zinc, 38.94 g/t silver, and 0.68 g/t gold — all five metals payable.
Copper-equivalent figures were calculated using metal prices as of August 26, 2026 — US$6.52/lb copper and US$0.85/lb lead — and assume 95% metallurgical recovery across all five metals, per the Junior Mining Network release.
Gary Lohman, P.Geo., VP Exploration and Director, said in the release: "Drilling continues to expand the mineralized footprint in the southwest. As with DDH WD-26-10, we see a variation in the distribution of the mineralization, with this hole highlighting increased assay values for Ag, Au, Pb and Zn at depth, further demonstrating the multi-element value of the Wedge."
The deposit's history shapes what the current program is targeting. Per Proactive Investors, the Wedge Mine was in production in the late 1960s until a head pillar collapse ended operations — only the top third was ever mined. The 2026 drill program is a 10,000-metre campaign targeting beneath those historical workings, approximately 200 metres below the top of the deposit, per Proactive Investors. DDH WD-26-10 is one of 17 holes drilled under that program; assay results have been subject to a processing bottleneck, per Proactive Investors.
Nine Mile holds four VMS projects in the Bathurst Mining Camp — Wedge, Nine Mile Brook, California Lake, and Canoe Landing Lake (East–West). The Bathurst camp is among the world's most productive VMS districts for base and precious metals, per Stock Titan.
On the balance sheet, the company carries C$4.63 million in cash and marketable securities against zero debt, per TipRanks. Shares outstanding stand at 193,956,270, per the same source. A May 30, 2026 snapshot from Morningstar showed a market cap of CA$15.52 million at a bid/ask of CA$0.08/CA$0.09; that figure predates the drill result by roughly three months and should not be read as current.
A price snapshot captured on August 12, 2026 — the date of the ingested data, not August 31 — showed NINE trading at CA$0.09, up 6.1%, on volume of 420,000 shares. That data point does not represent today's session and is presented here only as sourced context.
Nine Mile has 17 holes in the 2026 program with assay results still working through the lab queue. Additional results from the remaining holes in the southwest expansion area are pending.
