Stablecoin payments just moved from concept to working code at REPAY. On June 18, Repay Holdings Corporation (NASDAQ: RPAY) announced the successful completion of a proof of concept demonstrating stablecoin payment capabilities on its platform, executing a fully operational consumer payment over the Stellar blockchain network.
Atlanta-based REPAY provides vertically integrated payment processing for lenders, credit unions and businesses across its consumer and business payments segments. In the demonstration, a consumer holding funds in a compatible digital wallet authorized a transfer of USD Coin (USDC), a regulated, fiat-collateralized stablecoin designed to maintain a 1:1 value with the U.S. dollar, directly to a REPAY client's corresponding wallet. For a company whose business is moving money for billers and their customers, the pilot positions REPAY to offer faster settlement, lower transaction costs and increased transparency for certain payment use cases if demand for digital-asset payment options materializes among its clients.
A proof of concept is not a commercial product, and REPAY has not disclosed timelines or revenue expectations for any stablecoin offering. This is market commentary, not investment advice — small-cap technology stocks are highly speculative and you can lose your entire investment.
