The contracting activity is Space Systems Command, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The contract calls for modernization efforts to create a common architecture and design for the upgrade of ground-based radars.
The award is one of three under the Ground Based Radar Digitization (GBRD) program, which Space Systems Command announced on July 17, 2026, with a combined value of $423.4 million across all three awardees. Raytheon received the largest share at $309.5 million. SciTec Innovations and WildStar received the remaining allocations, with SciTec's $93,704,410 placing it second in the field.
SciTec President David Simenc said in the company's August 11, 2026 news release: "SciTec is honored to support the Space Force. This effort strengthens national defense, modernizing vital radar infrastructure and ensuring the United States maintains an operational advantage in an increasingly contested environment while minimizing total lifecycle costs to taxpayers and warfighters."
Princeton, N.J.-based SciTec brings more than four decades of experience in national security missions to the program, with capabilities spanning AI-enabled defense software and cloud-based, on-premise, and edge processing.
For Firefly as a whole, the timing is notable. The company reported record Q2 revenues of $117.7 million, significantly beating estimates, per the company's own disclosures. Firefly reiterated revenue guidance of $420–450 million for 2026 and cited a backlog of approximately $1.5 billion.

The GBRD program puts SciTec alongside Raytheon — a prime defense contractor by any measure — as a named awardee on a multi-hundred-million-dollar Space Force modernization effort.
